Summer Road Trip - Part 4

After almost 2 weeks in West Virginia we were on the road again.  We picked up Papa Jerry in Pittsburgh and headed Northwest to Detroit where we picked up Grandma Suz (who had flown in to meet us).  The 5 of us drove North to the Straits of Mackinac.  We took the ferry over to Mackinac Island to stay for a night.  Mackinac Island does not allow motorized vehicles...therefore the main modes of transportation are horse drawn carriages and bicycles.
We played tourist, bought amazing fudge (as it is World Famous), played glow in the dark golf and rode bikes.  It was a great 24 hours and definitely a do-over!
We continued on from Mackinac through the Upper Penninsula (the "UP") of Michigan into Duluth, MN for the night.  We only had a few hours to explore Duluth after a long drive and an early night.  From Duluth we were only 3 hours to the lake...everyone was ready to get there!
