Beaver Creek

At the end of October we took a long weekend in Beaver Creek, CO.  We had a great time swimming, ice skating, making smores and just having family time.
My little swimmers, it was a little chilly for this mom but the rest of the family had a great time.

Love this pic of Jon and the girls
Sometimes we are not quite sure about Quinn, she is a little crazy

Jon and Addison on the ice for the first time this year

I can't remember what she was giggling about but it was hilarious

The hotel were we stayed does smore's every night.  They have a giant fire pit outside and they set out HUGE bowls of Smores fixins....the girls were in heaven

October visitors - Grandma Pam & Papa Mike

Pam and Mike were here in October.  Mike and Jon took off to go hunting a day after they arrived so we got to have girl time with Grandma.  Of course the girls had so much fun.  Mike shot a huge bull on their hunt so everyone had a great time.

Carving pumpkins from Aunt Lori & Uncle Harry's pumpkin patch

Nice job grandpa & Addison

Of course Gunner had to be in the middle of the fun

Great Pic

The Outdoor Kitchen is finally here

Our late summer/fall project is finally finished and is fantastic.  Jon did all the planning and design.
The counter tops are poured concrete which Jon and my dad worked on!  They turned out great and will be stained later in the process

As this project moved into October it got a little chilly and Jon worked outside with his portable heater.  The rock looks great despite the cold!

And the rock is finished!

In goes the MASSIVE grill, that I am sure is every man's dream

The finished product!  We are so happy with it and have been using it a ton!

First day of School!

This week the girls started school.  Quinn started Pre-school on Monday and Addison started Kindergarten on Thursday.  They were excited to go back and see their teachers and friends.

A trip to Boppas!

A few days after we got home from the lake we got in the car again (yes, I am crazy) and drove to Grand Junction to visit my Grandpa and family.  The girls had a great time helping Grandma Susie irrigate, we picked vegetables from the garden and some fruit from the orchard.  Of course we couldn't have a few days without playing in the water (still missing the lake) so we settled for Boppa's sprinklers!
Off they go to turn on the water
Having a great time and we have only been in town for about 30 minutes
The girls feel it is their job to chase the chickens out of the yard even when they are still in their jammies!
Learning the proper irrigating techniques from Grandma, I was in trouble because I forgot their irrigating boots

Apparently I shop often with my mom as they are all 3 wearing yellow, Life is Good t-shirts with flip-flops on them!

Uncle Keenan teaching Addison how to bounce a baseball off of her bicep, a very important thing for a 5 year old to know
Playing catch with Uncle Keenan, a lot of discussion on step-and-throw

Cabin Photos

Now that we are home I have had some time to go through this summer's photos.  I realized I didn't put any pictures of the new cabin on the blog, so here you go!

Kitchen and Entry, this side of the cabin faces the road
Kitchen and dining, love all the space
From kitchen to lake side of cabin
Down the hall to the bath and guest room
Guest room, big windows look toward lake
Pre-McEvers family, love the blue (just kidding)
Much better without the blue in my opinion, this room looks at the lake
LOVE this sign, we found it in the boathouse and cleaned it up
Our bedroom, it is the entire 2nd floor and big enough for all of us
Lake views
Cabin from the road
The shed we share with Skip (neighbor a few cabins down)
Our view from the "Blue" room
From the lake looking back to the cabin
A visit from Grandpa Jerry and Grandma Susie
The grandmas!
